Baldur's Gate 3: Tempest Cleric of Selune
From the moment Emiri found luminous armor in the underdark's Selunite outpost, they are confident Selune personally bid them to travel their exceptional path.
Shadowheart & Emiri
Emiri appreciated comfort and monastery life. Their faith in Selune is unshakable, but they always resented their childhood trials and had an issue with the tough Selunite approach to vetting their young recruits, which compels small children to fend for themselves. When Shadowheart confided her past, they immediately suspected she was a captured child of Selune. They don’t appreciate how this ritual played into Shar’s hands.
Until cursed for praying directly to Shar at the Gauntlet, Emiri often prayed for the divine sisters to reconcile and fervently believed both clerics had been blessed by their patron deities in this pursuit.
Lae'Zel & Emiri
Emiri and Lae'Zel first fought each other when Emi knowingly wore the mask of Ethel the hag. Gale warned her but, she persisted, unsure why. This lead to a heart-pumping combat with the party and eventually hand-to-hand with Lae'Zel on the edge of an outcrop.
As a relatively squishy caster who prioritized healing magic, Emiri didn’t think theirself capable of harming three others in their party against her. But when they pushed a strong and fierce Lae'Zel from the outcrop’s edge into the mud, it was an important realization of their growing strength on the offense and an early combat of their romance. And for Lae'Zel, a point she gains respect for Emiri, realizing they are unlearning to hold back.
In the goblin camp with the priest of Lovitar, Lae'Zel seemed intrigued so I had her whipped by Abdirak. Unexpectedly, she received Lovitar’s Love, great buff for a tank. Really works well for Lae'Zel’s themes of drawing her strength from pain and sacrifice, especially in the beginning. Lovitar’s Love for Lae'Zel established in my mind that her intensity isn’t merely dogma and vigilance for Lae'Zel but deep down, masochism.
Lae'Zel’s love for Emiri helps her also learn to appreciate freedom, beauty, comfort and joy… without ever losing Lovitar’s Love, always also in touch with the strength she finds in pain.
